Ingredients:
- 35-40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup or 2 sticks of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or sprinkles or whatever (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Place saltine crackers salty side up in a single layer on the baking sheet and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together.
- Whisk and let it boil for 3 minutes until dissolved and thick.
- Pour over the saltine crackers and spread out with a spatula.
- Bake in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the mixture is bubbling on the crackers.
- Remove from the oven and immediately cover crackers with chocolate chips.
- Spread the chocolate over the saltines with a spatula.
- If chocolate is not quite spreading, put baking sheet in the oven for 2-3 minutes to melt the chocolate.
- Once covered with chocolate evenly, sprinkle with chopped nuts or sprinkles.
- Let it sit until completely cool and hardened. You can refrigerate to speed up the process.
- Cut into equal pieces and serve.
